Flashmob - Collective (Weave)Choreography Sergels Torg (2025)

Flashmob - Collective (weave)choreography, performance, Sergels Torg, October 2025, part of Stockholm Craft Week.

In a quiet flash mob, Sergels Torg is transformed into a giant weave when up to 50 students from Nyckelviksskolan weave together and individually. Yellow warp threads are stretched over the graphic pattern of the square to create a new image of the place when they are crossed over each other and between the weavers. The weavers are also each others counterweights to keep the tension of the threads. If someone moves, the person at the other end is affected. The large group of people creates minimal movement but at the same time they build a monumental installation and a multitude of small woven ribbons. The flash mob is created with students from Nyckelviksskolan under the direction of textile artist Matilda Dominique.
